Scope of Service

KGA Architecture engaged ArtCulture PR to develop the curatorial vision and public art strategy for a landmark three-phase public art initiative integrated into the City of Las Vegas’ new Arts District Parking Garage. The inaugural installation, Electric Desert by Victoria Hart, establishes the foundation for a cohesive public art program designed to evolve over multiple phases while contributing to the district’s long-term cultural identity.

Working collaboratively with KGA Architecture during the proposal phase, ArtCulture PR developed the project’s curatorial vision and contributed public art concepts incorporated into KGA Architecture’s successful competition proposal. This included recommending the integration of architectural breeze block elements as a defining feature of the garage’s artistic identity, creating a cohesive relationship between architecture and public art throughout the design. ArtCulture PR also developed the public art framework presented in the proposal and identified three accomplished artists whose work represented diverse contemporary approaches for consideration during the inaugural phase.

Recognizing the significance of the project as one of downtown Las Vegas’ most prominent civic infrastructure investments, ArtCulture PR advocated for a thoughtful and competitive artist selection process that created opportunities for accomplished artists to participate in a landmark public art commission. By expanding the range of artists considered for the inaugural installation, the process supported the City’s vision for a dynamic public art program while celebrating the breadth and diversity of Southern Nevada’s creative community.

Following selection of the project team, ArtCulture PR established the curatorial framework for the initiative, directed a national artist search, evaluated submissions, coordinated the review process, and guided the artist selection process to identify proposals that reflected both the architectural scale of the project and the evolving identity of the Las Vegas Arts District. The process culminated in the selection of Las Vegas-based artist Victoria Hart for the inaugural commission, establishing a strong curatorial foundation for future phases of the City’s public art program.

Through strategic planning, curatorial leadership, and collaborative design development, ArtCulture PR helped shape the artistic direction of one of downtown Las Vegas’ most significant civic infrastructure projects. By integrating public art with architectural design from the earliest stages of the proposal, advocating for expanded artist participation, and establishing a long-term curatorial vision,

ArtCulture PR created a sustainable framework that will guide the continued evolution of the City’s public art program for years to come.
